Easter table decorations (9)

A stay-home Easter in 2020, in all likelihood means no Beacon chocolate, no Easter eggs and no Lindt chocolate bunnies, so it’s time to go back to basics.

If you are anything like us, your final bulk shopping list before lock-down on the 26th March, did not include Easter décor and chocolate bunnies.

Normally by now, we would have completed our big Easter shop, which alongside ingredients for a beautiful roast, would have included a basket full of chocolate eggs and yummy Easter treats, not forgetting an absolute must-have Lindt chocolate bunny!

Well this year, there is none of that in our pantry and we have to get creative. You might like to take on some of these ideas to make your own #stayhome Easter, using a combo of general household items and a little innovation. If you are lucky enough to have a garden, make most of the flowers, greenery, herbs or whatever you can get your hands on. If you don’t have a garden, don’t despair as there are ideas for you too!

We hope you enjoy our photographic journey of ideas for a stay-home Easter…

Find a rattan tissue box and convert it into a centre-piece. If you don’t have access to fresh flowers, have a rummage through your daughters hair clip drawer and you are bound to find some flower clips. Make simple napkin rings with general household string, bake a cake using up flour, eggs, figs and melted chocolate bars or a fancy breakfast with potato rosti and poached eggs. Choose the colours that you associate with Easter and just have fun doing things differently this year!
