Introduction
Our Swiss client who also owns property in Plettenberg Bay purchased this apartment as a Cape Town city apartment to stay in during his visits to Cape Town.
Design Brief
Our brief was to re-furnish the living areas of the apartment with something more unusual; a semi “Boho-Chic Grandeur” touching on a more masculine feel while still embracing comfort, practicality and warmth.
Outcome
By using beautiful fabrics and textures, velvets and leathers we created a design that creates intrigue whilst not compromising on practicality. With clever use of colour and a red velvet curtain draped to one side we zoned off certain areas, commissioned and designed back-lit custom-made cabinets and library units, sourced some beautiful reclaimed antique units like the glass back-lit drinks cabinet, and had bespoke occasional armchairs embroidered with short phrases chosen by our client. The bedrooms each saw their own colour scheme with upholstered headboards and African Jaquard bed throws. The final touches included accessories and beautiful paintings by local artists.
Client Comments
“Being overseas we couldn’t have done this without ReDress. We were able to rely on them and carry out our renovations. Everything was perfect.
They always think about the smallest details that makes all the difference.
“When we arrived even the beds were made for us and they had left us a beautiful coffee table book as a gift. We would also say that being able to communicate both in English and in French, in our case, was really helpful. We would definitely recommend ReDress for their professionalism, their knowledges, their amazing ideas and their responsibility” – Melanie
